Do the airlines go by the inches posted on the tag when you bought the bag or do they have their own system?
I bought an Eddie B. Duffel that says the bag is 62 inches, and I know that that is the maximum size for checked bags. It was a bad decision on my part to buy it, but I was just wondering how they determine the inches of the bags when you go to check them. Any info would be great! Thanks so much! 
I wouldn't be at all concerned. Eddie Bauer is a big enough company to know the airline regulations, and wouldn't be likely to peddle a piece that would cause grief at check-in time. Just make sure you don't overload it, since weight is also an important factor.
