So, did all this begin with timeless African Safari, or are the roots deeper still? Frankly, there hasn't been much written on the topic. I am going to resist the temptation of saying it all started with Alexander the Great's trip to Siwa, Egypt in 331BC to consult the Oracle of Amun. That's too easy!

Let's focus on the term in its modern context. Many attribute the early stirrings of adventure travel to Grand Circle Travel, when in 1958, they offered travel services geared to older Americans with an interest in discovering local peoples and cultures first hand. There is but one indisputable fact. Adventure travel is here, it is growing and it is a multi-million dollar business. The baby boomer generation is reaching retirement age. They are healthier and more vigorous than retirees of past generations. They seek a lifestyle that maintains that health and vigor. The adventure vacation fulfills that niche perfectly.

Africa Has A Wealth Of Safari Vacation Choices

So, how do you obtain the scuba diving certification? The only way to receive this certification is by signing up with a scuba diving school which basis its curriculum with a recognized scuba training agency. Such scuba certification agencies regulate and represent diving professionals and operators whilst also promoting the sport and the marine environment.

On successful completing the training, you will be certified as a scuba diver. You will then receive a scuba diving license which will allow you to scuba dive with diver operators and rent scuba equipment.

Because there are many different scuba diving certification agencies around, it is worth to find out which ones are closer to your home. It is important to understand that the approach to scuba diving will vary for each agency. However most popular agencies will offer very similar training for recreational scuba and will recognize each others qualifications.

Some Agencies are global organizations such as PADI and NAUI and thus recognized worldwide whilst other agencies are closely related to their country of origin.

Scuba lessons - Theory

In the theory part, you will be learning scuba diving safety techniques and basic scuba concepts. You will likely watch videos introducing you to scuba and will be briefed on scuba safety practices. Within the theory lessons you will also get to learn the different scuba hand signals for use underwater communication.

Most important of all, you will be introduced to the different diving equipment that you are soon going to use. During this time you will also be reading text books and gaining an understanding of the relationship between depth and pressure. Knowledge of how to use the dive tables to plan a dive and assembling and maintaining your scuba equipment will also be provided within this part of your scuba diving lessons.

Scuba lessons - Confined Water training

The next part of your scuba lessons is the confined water training. Finally within this part of the scuba course, you will actually get your first experience to breathing underwater. These sessions will train you on how to use your equipment and practice your buoyancy and surfacing skills. There are many skills to practice and learn, so you will probably have several sessions to practice them out.

At the end of the theory and confined sessions, you will be required to pass a final exam to progress to the open water portion of the program.

Scuba diving lessons - Open Water training

The final portion is the open water training. Here you will get to test the skills learned from the previous confined water training sessions. You will here practice the scuba diving skills with your instructor until you are completely confident and can perform them with ease in a real diving situation.

During these scuba dives, you will be given an orientation to some of the local conditions and environment you will be diving in once you have completed the course. The good thing about it is that you will also get to check out the underwater scenery. Be ready to become addicted to diving. These skill evaluation tests are spread over approximately four different dives. Once your instructor is satisfied with your progress and have passed all the necessary tests, you will be certified as an official scuba diver.

With its majestic Himalayan Mountains and fascinating local culture, Nepal is a favorite destination for adventurous travelers.  Each year thousands embark upon the experience of a lifetime to spend days or weeks in the breathtakingly beautiful country of Nepal.

Most adventure travelers in Nepal will be treated to magnificent views from high in the mountains.  They will wander through pure forests and past clear mountain lakes, rivers and waterfalls.  They'll visit remote Buddhist monasteries and shrines and see tiny mountain villages, full of friendly locals.

Preparation is a key element in enjoying an African safari vacation. Bad preparation before traveling to a foreign continent can cost you in more ways than one!

Let's face it, not many people will get the opportunity to experience the adventure and exhileration of mighty Africa so why risk problems without some preparation.

What preparation am I talking about? Well, the basics.

It may seem trivial at first but everything from clothing to personal care to seeing your doctor before you embark on your adventure of a lifetime will make a huge difference on whether your memories of your African safari trip will be memorable or forgettable.

Let's take a look at some of the essential preparation you need to take care of before you leave.

1. Your travel agent is the first guide who will be appointed on your trip. He/she is very important. Sit down with them and make a checklist of items you need.

2. Check the "lay of the land." Vitally important! Whether you are traveling solo or with a group, do a little homework on where you are traveling too. Get a feel for some of the local customs and laws.

3. What will the weather be like where you are heading too? If you hate wet weather then avoid taking your trip during the wet season.

4. The weather will have a big bearing on the type of clothing you are taking. Too many times on an African safari vacation people over pack. Dragging heavy luggage around on a mobile trip like a safari is sheer lunacy.

7. Have a medical check up before you leave. This is extremely important. The last thing you need is to become ill in the middle of Africa. This could put you in a very awkward situation.

8. Make sure your immigration papers are all up to date. How's your passport? Have you updated it?

African Safari Vacation – How To Enjoy Your African Adventure!

Scuba diving does not come cheap. In fact it is quite an expensive adventure sport. You have to prepare yourself to invest scuba so before even starting you have to be sure that you are willing to make the commitment. However the experiences that scuba will give you are priceless.

You have to understand that the cost of scuba diving, are segmented into three parts. These are Scuba Diving lessons and scuba diving Certification Costs, scuba diving Equipment and the actual Dives.

To begin with, scuba diving lessons and an accredited scuba diving certification is required before exploring the underwater environment. Expect to pay around 0-0 for the course leading up to the scuba diving certification.

The bulk of your cost of scuba will however be spent on your scuba diving equipment. Be prepared to pay around ,400 to ,000. So, now let us discuss the cost of scuba diving in terms of each and every piece of scuba diving equipment:
The main piece of your scuba equipment is the air regulator. This is designed to reduce the compressed air within the scuba tank to a level which allows you to breath. The main key to this piece of equipment is reliability. Therefore go for the best regulators out there. Don't skimp on this one, the last thing you want when diving is a regulator failing on you. A cost for a good regulator including the air hoses is around 0 to 0.

The next piece of equipment which is mandatory in scuba is the buoyancy compensator device commonly known as a BCD. This equipment is essential to regulate your buoyancy whilst underwater. Expect to pay around 0 for a good one.

Another equipment is the scuba tank. These range in about 0 to 0 however, the cost in renting the tank is about the same as having your own tanks filled which is approximately to . So in this case it might be wise to just rent them out.

Tips to Make Your African Safari Vacation A Pleasure Tour

Day 1 - Arusha Coffee Lodge, Arusha, Tanzania

On arrival from your international flight into Nairobi's Jomo Kenyatta International Airport, Kenya, connect with a one hour scheduled flight to Arusha, Tanzania. On arrival you will be met and transferred by road to Arusha Coffee Lodge where you stay for one night (bed and breakfast).

A safari vacation in Tanzania will provide both you and your family with some fantastic safari memories. Tanzania has some of the most luxurious lodges and wonderful guides for the perfect African safari and with only a short flight to Zanzibar you can relax on one of the beautiful African beaches.

Opened in December 2001, Arusha Coffee Lodge is stylish, comfortable and efficient and is an ideal to acclimatise before your safari.

The lodge consists of 23 luxury chalets which are creatively decorated. Each luxurious chalet is spaced throughout the lush coffee grove to ensure privacy and solitude. The beds are very comfortable and furnishings are of top quality with lots of interesting coffee themed artefacts. There is even a little sitting room with couch and chairs off from the bedroom. The elegant bathrooms are grand with nice fixtures including bath and shower. One of the nicest features is the private wooden deck attached to each chalet which overlooks the coffee plantation. As the majority of arrivals are at night, the deck offers a great morning spot to experience your first sights and sounds of Africa. Days 2 to 8

Over the next seven days you will be taken on a private game safari in a fully equipped four wheel drive vehicle with radio and a highly experienced driver/guide. You will have the flexibility to go where you wish, when you wish, and can vary your activities to include walking where possible as well as unlimited game drives, while visiting some of Tanzania's most famous national parks and conservation areas (fully inclusive of meals and activities).

Days 2 and 3 - The Tree Camp, Ngorongoro Crater Lodge, Tanzania

In the morning you will be met and taken by road in a westerly direction for approximately four hours to Ngorongoro Crater Lodge in Northern Tanzania, where you stay for two nights at the Tree Camp.

Perched on top of the breathtaking Ngorongoro Crater and surrounded by some of the most spectacular flora and fauna, Ngorongoro Crater Lodge offers guests accommodation in a truly unique setting. Tree Camp has just six large suites each with Victorian bath, shower, a huge four-poster bed, armchairs and massage room. There are several verandas, each with wonderful views of the 80miles_ crater below you.

Inspired by ancient African architecture, the lodge offers modern, comfortable accommodation in keeping with the natural splendour of its surroundings and takes the form of three small villages. Each village commands awe-inspiring views of the crater floor 500 metres below.
There are three attractive bars and a charming tree house. Hearty breakfasts, buffet lunches and four course dinners quell appetites sharpened by fresh air and safari excitement.

In the early morning of Day 3 your driver will take you down into the Crater for a morning's safari game viewing. When the Crater becomes busy, you will leave and head off to explore the surrounding area and one of the small craters, before returning to the lodge.

Ngorongoro Crater was originally a volcano larger than Mount Kilimanjaro but approximately three million years ago a huge series of eruptions caused the centre to subside forming a vast volcanic caldera ten miles wide. The floor of the caldera is 1500ft below the rim and on this 80-mile_ area live 20,000 animals of all kinds. There are thousands of wildebeest, zebra, antelope, giraffe and other plains game, lion, leopard, hyena and bat-eared fox and seventeen rhinoceros which have been preserved from the poachers and are now beginning to flourish again. The animals in the crater are used to the presence of mankind, which makes this a good area for wildlife photography, particularly as the crater floor is so diverse with areas of swamp, woodland and dry savannah grassland, all set against the backdrop of the forested crater walls.

In the southern quarter of the crater lies Lake Magadi which is a haven for waterbirds and you can frequently see flocks of thousands of flamingos gathered in one corner making their raucous calls and presenting a mass of pink wings, necks and legs.

To the north east of Ngorongoro lie other craters, such as Empakai and Ol Moti, which provide excellent walking opportunities and if you visit Empakai you can descend into the steep-sided forest crater and admire the beautiful lake that sits in its base. From time to time you meet groups of scarlet-cloaked Maasai herding their cattle and goats, and for those clients staying a little longer in Ngorongoro it would be possible to visit a Maasai boma to see something of their way of life.

Days 4 and 5 - Lake Manyara Tree Lodge, Lake Manyara, Tanzania

Today you will be taken two hours in a south westerly direction towards the Rift Valley to Lake Manyara Tree Lodge where you stay for two nights.

Lake Manyara Tree Lodge is the only lodge inside Lake Manyara National Park. It is one of the most luxurious and elegant small lodges in Tanzania with ten imaginatively designed tree house suites made of local timber, set on stilts among huge mahogany trees. Each suite is elegantly furnished with a comfortable bed, sitting area and an en-suite bathroom with a proper bath, as well as an outdoor shower. You can admire the rich forest through your window and your game viewing deck outside. Between safaris you can relax in the lounge areas and you can take a dip in the pool. Safari game drives are enjoyed in open vehicles with your guide and on foot with special Masai Warriors.

Lake Manyara National Park is renowned for its tree climbing lions and its abundance of spectacular forest. You find sausage trees, their huge pods being much sought after by the local elephants, cactus like candelabra trees, mahogany, fig and acacia trees - all leading down to the beautiful waters of Lake Manyara. The wildlife includes the lions, elephant, buffalo, antelope, giraffe and a host of smaller creatures, as well as over three hundred and fifty species of birds which you will have the opportunity to see whilst out on your private safari game drive with your guide.
Days 6 and 7 - Tarangire Nomad Shared Camp - Tarangire National Park, Tanzania

Today you will be taken on a game drive two hours east to Tarangire where you stay for two nights at a shared 'traditional' camp.

Tarangire is one of the most attractive National Parks in East Africa. The focus of any safari here is the Tarangire River, a beautiful quite shallow meandering river which provides a reliable source of water for the big herds of elephant, antelope, buffalo and big cats, which inhabit Tarangire. The most exciting time to visit is between June and the end of October when this water becomes even more important and over 3,000 elephant migrate into Tarangire from Manyara. One of the most attractive aspects of this National Park is the variety of vegetation which includes areas of open grassland, riverine bush, hill country and wetland and swamps; all of which supports a particularly wide variety of species. The trees of Tarangire are exceptionally attractive and include thousands of huge old baobabs, acacia, cactus-like candelabra, mahogany and sausage trees, with their huge pods which are much favoured by the elephants.

Nomad Safaris have set up a semi-permanent camp which operates throughout the dry season and is located on a private area of land where you can enjoy all that Tarangire has to offer by vehicle both during the day and at night time, and on walks which are fascinating in this beautiful riverine country enabling you to reach out and touch things, examine tracks and learn the fundamentals of bush craft. This semi permanent bush camp is based upon a model which has been used for many years in the Serengeti with large walk in tents proper beds, simple safari furniture and en suite long drop w.c. and bush shower. A cheerful and competent support team runs the camp and an experienced chef prepares amazingly delicious meals which are all the more enjoyable for being taken in this remote and beautiful corner of Africa.

Days 8 to 12 - Breezes Beach Club, Zanzibar, Tanzania

In the morning you will be transferred two hours to Arusha to board a scheduled flight departing at 1215 to Zanzibar. On arrival at 1345 you will be met and taken to Breezes Beach Club where you stay for five nights in an ocean front room (half board).

Breezes Beach Club is situated along a pristine white sandy beach, edged with palm trees.

The rooms are comfortable, spacious and fully air-conditioned, with luxurious en suite bathrooms, and are all tastefully furnished in authentic Zanzibari style. There are three bars, one by the pool, and three restaurants, which serve exceptional cuisine, featuring local spices, tropical fruits and delicacies from the Indian Ocean. African Family Safari Vacation – Tanzania – Ngorongoro Crater Lodge, Lake Manyara Tree Lodge, Tarangire Shared Camp and Breezes Beach Club

Learning to scuba dive is easy and can be undertaken by anyone, young and old, who are willing and dedicated to learn and make the investment for this adventure sport. Today, training programs have made scuba diving accessible to anyone. Men, women, kids, elderly and even disabled alike have the opportunity to learn how to scuba dive.

However before you can start experiencing the excitement that scuba gives you, you will have to learn how to scuba dive through proper training. Unlike snorkeling you cannot just decide to buy or rent equipment and start to scuba dive. This is because scuba diving involves some risks therefore special training is required. Dive shops will not take you for scuba excursions unless you have proof that you have the necessary training and scuba diving certification.

So before anything else you have to first learn how to scuba through the proper training from a qualified diving instructor. However do not get overwhelmed, scuba is a safe and easy adventure sports. Basic skills can be learned in a three day course. You just need to go and enroll yourself at a scuba class.

Health Requirements to start scuba diving

Although Scuba diving is easy, it can be a strenuous physical activity. For this reason you should be physically prepared. Your overall health should be reasonably good, particularly you circulatory and respiratory systems. Ideally, you should talk to your doctor to give you the all clear to start scuba.

You should also be aware that certain, certifying agencies may also require a certificate of good health before you are able to start training. Physically you should be a reasonable proficient swimmer who is comfortable and relaxed in the water. However, the most important of all, even if you are the strongest swimmer out there, is that you are mentally prepared to learn how to scuba dive and posses a mature attitude in handling this adventure sports.

Scuba Certification

So the question is, why do you need to train through courses for scuba? You need to obtain a scuba diving certification. Well, the most important factor in scuba training is that the basic scuba diving lessons are intended to prepare you to scuba concepts and make you comfortable with the equipment you need. Equipment that you can rent the scuba equipment from the diving school. You will gain knowledge on the type of equipment you need at a later stage.

Getting Started

The first step in getting your scuba diving certification is to locate a dive shop in your area. Preferably visit more than one dive shop, to get a idea on what is on offer, maybe they may have some interesting course packages.

Once you have made your choice on your diving school, sign up for a beginner scuba diving class. At this point in time, you are not required to purchase any sort of diving equipment, as you can rent the scuba equipment from the diving school. You will gain knowledge on the type of equipment you need at a later stage.

Another way to learn how to scuba dive is to get a resort course. This is a short course which is only limited to shallow dives with your instructor, includes a short theory session with your instructor, and learning basic scuba diving skills in confined water. This type of course allows you to explore diving and is a great way to determine if scuba is for you without having to invest into the full cost of a certification.

Obtaining the full scuba diving certification is very similar to getting your driver's license. The courses are structured around theory and hands on basic scuba diving training in confined and later in open water.

Thinking of starting Scuba diving? – tips on what you need to know to start this great activity

An African Safari Vacation must include Kenya. A Kenyan Safari should if possible include a few days in Amboseli Game Reserve, and one of the best places to stay is the Amboseli Porini Camp.

This part of your Arican Safari Vacation at Amboseli Porini Camp will in fact be spent in the Selenkay Conservation Area which is a fifteen thousand acre private game reserve just above the northern boundary of Amboseli National Park.

Selenkay is owned by Maasai people, and is an important dispersal area for wildlife as it moves in and out of Amboseli, and so there is much more and different game to be seen here than in Amboseli itself.

To have an idea of what it was like to take an African Safari Vacation back in the 1920's you need to firstly stay in a proper camp. What that means is tents in the bush with no fences, and very few guests as opposed to a fenced in lodge overlooking a water hole as happens too often.

Amboseli Porini Camp fulfils this objective and more, consisting of just nine spacious tents sitting amongst shady Acacia trees. There can therefore never be more than eighteen guests at any one time, so it is small and Porini is also exclusive.

It is also real old fashioned camping in the bush with no swimming pool, in fact nothing permanent at all, not even a bar or restaurant building. Of course there is food and drink in abundance, and it is all inclusive including beer and wines, but meals are taken under the shade of the trees, and there is a campfire to sit around and discuss the adventures of the day.

By the way Amboseli Porini Camp is staffed mostly by the local Maasai people. In addition the Selenkay Maasai receive an income from all tourism activities which is important to everyone

The only difference between the Amboseli Porini Camp of the 21st Century and the old fashioned bush camps is the bathrooms in the tents. The tents themselves are very spacious, and very comfortably furnished with a double and single beds, lit by solar power, and each has an ensuite bathroom with shower, wash basin and very importantly for guests used to modern comforts a flush toilet!! By the way the camp accepts children from the age of six, although perhaps this is a bit young to appreciate the wonders of an African Safari Vacation.

Too many people take an African Safari vacation, and they go to Kenya, and they even visit Amboseli, but sadly their experience is somewhat marred by the fact that they travel in Tour Operator's mini buses. No so at Amboseli Porini Camp where all game drives are taken in open sided four wheel drive vehicles, which make for great viewing. In addition because Selenkay is a private conservancy you won't be surrounded by other safari vehicles, your game viewing will be exclusive to you and your family.

You will see elephant in Selenkay because the population is growing, and undisturbed by mass tourism. The Selenkay Conservancy limits the number of people to eighteen per day thus keeping the wild and unspoilt nature of the place.

You can expect to see the following animals on this part of your African Safari Tour to Amboseli Porini Camp, and this is what makes it so worthwhile.

Elephant, lion, leopard, cheetah, Thompson's and Grant's gazelles, gerenuk, impala, oryx, lesser kudu, zebra, wildebeest, giraffe, warthog, striped hyena, jackal, bat-eared fox, caracal, African wild cat, serval cat, genet cat, honey badger, mongoose and ostrich.

An African Safari Vacation To Amboseli

A safari vacation in Kenya is undoubtedly an African holiday never to forget. A vacation or safari in Africa, particularly in Kenya, remains one of the most popular and memorable experiences one can ever possibly undertake. It is more than simply a vacation – it is an exploration of the origins of Man, and an appreciation of some of the glorious and iconic animals in the world, within their true habitat. From lions and leopards to elephants and wildebeest, a Kenyan safari is the ultimate in exotic experiences, and will create tales and memories to share and enjoy for the rest of your life.

Although the majority of your memories of Kenya will be animal related, there is much to enjoy and to appreciate that is not in wild and arid plains of the highlands. Indeed, you would be well advised to spend at least a day or two in Nairobi, the capital city of Kenya. If you have ever read Karen Blixen’s famous book, ‘Out of Africa’, you will enjoy visiting her house here, built in 1912, and exploring many of the scenes and locations described in the book, and the subsequent film adaptation of course.

Also in Nairobi you will find a number of animal sanctuaries, such as the one for elephants, and the one for giraffes. Seeing these animals up so close, and especially watching the adorable young animals cavorting around, is a real pleasure. If you are fortunate enough to have the luxury of a good guide, they will be able to take you through the city, allowing you the time to appreciate the many cultural, historical and natural wonders on offer, whilst also ensuring you get to see a broad slice of Kenyan life.

Naturally, much of your holiday here will be spent either on safari, or at least excursions into the highlands and plains to watch the animals in the wild. It will be necessary to remind yourself frequently that you are not watching a natural history program on television, but that you are just a short distance away from the very real kings of the African plain. Watching lions, giraffes, elephants, leopards and wildebeest in their natural habitat, and surrounded by wild, open landscape that stretches to the distant mountains on the horizon, will require plenty of spare film in your camera.

Not surprisingly, many film crews and top naturalists come here, although it’s well worth knowing when the best seasons are for watching the animals. Although Kenya enjoys a tropical climate towards the coast, and a more arid climate further inland towards the rising highlands and plains, it does experience two rainy seasons. The longest of these takes place between April and June, with most of the rain tending to fall during the afternoons. Between October and December there can be a slightly shorter rainy season.

The best months for a safari vacation in Kenya can be between June and September, as it is during this period that the annual animal migration takes place, with hundreds of thousands of blue wildebeest journeying across the plains. This is often captured by film crews who travel here especially for this remarkable footage. Imagine being there, yourself, with a guide to take you to the best locations where you can watch one of the most incredible and awe inspiring natural events taking place before your very eyes.

Scuba Diving Malaysia

If you're checking to see if it's legal, and how you plan to punish me, please allow me to explain. I'm a PADI Master Instructor of Scuba Diving, and I spend my working days teaching scuba in Thailand. One of the most rewarding experiences for my diving students' is shooting great photographs of aquatic marine life.

Making underwater photographs in Thailand has many advantages for divers searching for that 'perfect shot';

Clear blue water
Warm water averaging 28 degrees centigrade

The most popular tourist areas for scuba diving in Thailand are Pattaya, Phuket and Koh Samui. These resorts offer great fun and excitement for beginners and certified divers. Whether it's vibrant fish life, colourful corals or sunken ship wrecks, the camera won't stop clicking while you're scuba diving in Thailand. I've captured pictures of Seahorses and giant Gorgonian Sea Fans in Phuket, Black tip reef Sharks in Koh Samui, and World War 11 ship wrecks in Pattaya.

Todays modern camera equipment has changed the way that scuba divers 'shoot' fish underwater. The traditional film camera is still used by many diving professionals, but digital underwater cameras have made underwater photography both accessible and affordable to the majority of scuba divers. Learning to Scuba Dive is not difficult for most people who are comfortable in the water, but snapping great photos under water takes novices some time to learn. One of the most important attributes is good buoyancy control. Apart from all the obvious advantages that neutral, relaxed buoyancy has for scuba diving, if you're trying to compose that image of the tiny yellow blob, commonly known as a Frogfish, being able to hover almost motionless just centimetres away from your subject is what sets you apart from the norm. Also, as recreational scuba divers descend, water absorbs colour. Starting with Red, Orange and then Yellow, and as you dive deeper, you'll lose Green and Blue. Strobe lights help to restore some of the colour that's lost, which is how the professionals obtain fantastic vibrant colours from their images.

I fully appreciate that not every diver has a passion for taking pictures of the new world that they've discovered. Many divers are more fascinated by ship wrecks, perhaps diving deep or making dives using nitrox (an increased amount of oxygen) but most of my scuba buddies have admitted that they are very keen to share the wonders on the underwater world by shooting pictures of fish and other marine life. With modern technology as a friend, it's now possible to store and share underwater images with your family, friends and even the general public via social sites and the internet. The dive may have been the most amazing experience that you've had, but it's so much more powerful to share the adventures with those for whom it may not be possibly to try scuba diving. PADI scuba courses teach student divers how to capture and share underwater photographs, and the Digital Underwater Photography course is now available to all scuba divers from the age of ten.

Private scuba lessons are becoming more popular now, especially in Thailand. Taking a dive course with you own private scuba instructor offers exclusivity, the personal touch, and usually more flexibility. So to enrol in the shooting fish course, otherwise known as the PADI DUP (digital underwater photography) course, you do need to be a certified diver of at least ten years old. But be prepared for some underwater fun that diving in Pattaya has to offer. The coral reefs are shallower here than other dive sites in Thailand, and the other advantage is that scuba diving in Pattaya is available year round because the Gulf of Thailand tends to be sheltered from the southwest monsoons that arrive in Phuket from June until October. Pattaya is not a famous diving destination, but beginners and experienced divers will be rewarded with some of the best wreck diving in Thailand. So, clean up the lens, replace the batteries and make sure that you have a watertight seal, because when you dive in Pattaya the camera never lies. You really can see Turtles, Seahorses and Sharks, and the wreck dives will leave you breathless (pardon the pun) as you drift along US Landing Crafts from the Second World War that were intentionally sunk by the Thai Navy for the local Thai divers and tourists on a scuba diving holiday in Pattaya.
