I was to visit London to transact some business. My supplier I have been with for the past 10 years invited me. I already stayed for two weeks in France and one week in Holland. I was dying to visit London to compare what I have read in books and hear of it to what I would be seeing in reality. I deliberately book my hotel in two parts. Spend one week at Tavistock hotels and the other week at a Hotel in Victoria. I wanted to be close the Landmarks in the area.
I took a taxi from the Airport to go to the Russell square where I checked into Tavistock hotel. In Bloomsbury, the Russell Square area has good hotels.
I realised why a lot of tourists like the place. I myself fell in love with it the very day I was there. With my map, I decided to hit town and explore the capital which I have read so much about. The City was exactly as i expected it to be. All that I have read about the Capital was very true. My tour started when I decided to explore Russell Square first. I visited the British Museum and the British Library. It was not surprising when I arrived at Covent Garden from the British Museum because I saw the Street performers in the area just as I have read about.
For the rest of the week at Tavistock hotel London, I visited the West end area. I explored the Marble Arch as well as the Oxford Circus in the first week. On my visit to Leicester square, I saw a lot of theatres and no wonder the place is sometimes called Theathreland. The Piccadilly Circus to me was very exciting when I got there from Leicester Square. The place also looked vey busy. I paid a visit to the shopping streets in the West End area on my 5th day and was surprised to see that the place was so dense with shoppers and other tourists. The Bond street, the Regent street and the Oxford Strret are very busy shopping streets but I found the Oxford Street to be the busiest. I was also in the Soho and the China town area for a short time.
I went to stay in Victoria area in my second week as booked through Cheap London hotels agency. Victoria area was the place I was dying to be because there were a lot of exciting Landmarks to see. The buckingham Palace was where I visited first to go an look at the changing of the guard. One Landmark I was itching to see was the Big Ben because I have only seen pictures of it in books. The Houses of Parliament were also at where the Tower clock or the Big Ben is. I went to see the Westminster Abbey as well. London eye was the final Landmark I visited. How this structure was built will forever amaze me. I realised why the London Eye is one of the best tourists attraction in London. I enjoyed my stay in Central London and I would like to stay in the cheap hotels in Russell square as they have good accommodation standard but lower rates.
